Update: Catskill-opoly

The Catskill-opoly boards are out in the wild and the stories rolling in have been incredible - from glorious victories to crushing defeats around the board. Please keep the photos and tales coming, they really are making my day!

The latest of orders head to their new homes today, but we’ve also partnered with some great local spots where you can also get one:

Kitchen Cheetah, The Pines, Jitterbug, Shandaken Inn, Foxfire Mountain House, and Cafe Mornings. More boards will be hitting more locations later in the week. If you want to carry Catskill-opoly - Give me a shout!

Burger Quest: Woah

There were more than 400 burger nominations with 121 unique burgers. That would be an insane caloric intake which may concern my general practitioner - so here is my thought process - I’m going to go through the list and take the top 25-most-voted-for burgers and move forth in the quest.

Burgers will then be judged on Flavor (40 pts), Assembly (20 pts), Presentation (20 pts), Texture (10 pts), and Misc. (10 pts). There will be several awards given out, including a community-favorite which you can vote on, but only one trophy for the Greatest Burger in the Catskills.

Next, I’ll compile the top 25 burgers so we can begin this quest in earnest!

Vote: Crew Clubs

Catskill Crew is all about our community - which had me thinking, should we start some community-led Crew Clubs?

We can do fly fishing, hiking, dog parents, yoga… the sky is the limit. But the goal is simple: Let’s further connect and support Crew Members in organizing meetups around our shared passions. Let me know what you think and if the vote passes, we can see where this goes.

Night Sky: Conjunction

Keep an eye on the eastern horizon after sunset on January 22nd, when Mars and Pollux (one of Gemini's brightest stars) will appear strikingly close together, passing within just 2.36° of each other around 23° above the horizon. The best viewing time starts around 6:05 PM, when this celestial pair will put on a dazzling show in the constellation Gemini.

Waves to Woods
We’re gathering friends, neighbors, and strangers to hang by the fire and drink some beers at the brewery. There will be tunes from our buddy DJ Whippoorwill, a food truck, Jetty box truck with tons of merch (including a limited edition Catskill Collab), and more! A portion of the proceeds will go to support the legendary work of Trout Unlimited.
