💚 ISOLATION PROOF

Latest Drop: Ramp Gin

Isolation Proof invited me out to their HQ in Bloomville to help bottle and sample the latest batch of their ramp infused gin before it hits shelves. Bottles will be available this week, so buy online or reach out to them on Instagram to find the closest retail shop. Additionally, you can come by Sunshine Colony, in Livingston Manor this Saturday from 4-7pm for some rampy cocktails and bites.

😎 NEW BUSINESS ALERT

The Meat Hook

Hudson has an exciting addition to the community - The Meat Hook. This whole-animal butcher, renowned for its pasture-raised, grass-fed meats, originally debuted in Williamsburg 15 years ago. Now they’ve opened a new location located at 322 Warren St in Hudson — We scored a beautiful ribeye on opening day and cooked up a storm. Catskill Crew Approved! Go check them out.

🕯️ COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT

We love to share the creativity of our community! Last week, we asked you to share your experiences with the eclipse. This week’s entry “A Consciousness Journal” is written by a good friend of the crew, Tenzo Mountaine.

Totality Trout: Fly Fishing Through The Eclipse

The Sermon’s Pause

Fishing during an eclipse is what we make of it, like any day fishing, which for me is everyday. But today is different, as everyday and creek is always. To the observant and knowing, in a natural way-every department of nature’s store has a sign up today; there’s an eerie tangibility in the air, a soft hammering in the distant past of an ancient familiarity and memory, together with a palpable electric in the out of doors, perceivable internally-in consciousness against my life’s experience and knowing as a person of the outdoors, a citizen of this planet, a child of this earth.

The light encapsulated the moment, and seemingly made everything magic. The hush over nature’s crowd giving the meadows and trees around the sullen nature of a quiet church, full of its people, the preacher of course being the sun-who has now taken dramatic pause with the sermon of light-as before a storm-but this was a different kind of silence; one made of reverence and reverie, which made the sound of my line through the guides, and the swish of the once blade of grass now swinging as my bamboo fly rod more than audible, but palpable by the ears of my heart as sounds of reverence as well, beneath the sermon’s pause.
